Korexion
KOREXION
Keipher Scott aka Korexion comes from a family of very talented musicians in Jamaica and has made his way to Canada to continue on with this prodigy. His teachings came straight from Trench Town University where he learned to integrate the soul and culture of the true roots of reggae music.
Korexion shares his childhood memory and homeland neighbourhood with the spirit of the late Bob Marley. His very first guitar he ever laid his hands on and began strumming belonged to none other than the legend, Bob Marley. With the heavy influence of Bob Marley, Korexion celebrates every year on Bob Marley’s birthday in his hometown to perform.
The streets of Trench Town are rough. Poverty, violence and political strife are a part of everyday life. Growing up, Korexion fought through every obstacle that came his way and was determined to be a voice of change for the people of the world.
Korexion is a man on a mission, spreading his clean lyrics, lovers’ rock feel and spreading the message of love throughout the world. This message continues to ripple throughout the music industry and into our hearts.
With a prestigious Canadian Juno Award for Best Reggae Recording of the Year along with several other accolades achieved, Korexion is now turning his mind back to his roots. Passionate about life and the power of positivity, inspired by his homeland visits regularly, he continues to embrace the cultural foundations of reggae in his latest singles, mixing modern rhythms with echoes of the classics.
His roots are clearly visible in his latest singles such as “How Great Thou Art” which is an uplifting spiritual track that embodies cultural reggae and dancehall groove. NORVAL EDGEHILL
Norval Edgehill
The words kind, honest, straight forward, loving and jovial are just a few words used to describe Norval Edgehill. Born in the cool parish of Portland, Jamaica on the 29th day of March 1971, Norval was not expected to be no ordinary person. He grew up in the parish with his mother and sister; during this time he attended the Fruitful Vale All Age School then went on to the Port Antonio Secondary School which is now known as the Port Antonio High School.
In the earlier years of his life, Norval was mentored by his father who was a choir master and the love for music just took over, leading him to become the vocalist you now know him as. He looked up to artistes such as Beres Hammond, John Holt and Mikey Melody. In 1995 Norval recorded the single EVERY TICK OF THE CLOCK which was a moved motivated by Mikey Melody (to whom he gives credit for reaching this far in the music industry) and involved the likes of Gipse from Sly and Robbie. Norval’s most successful song to date is WHEREVER YOU ARE produced by BK Mars Production; needless to say he is very proud of how the single has grown. Other songs from the talented reggae singer are MAMA CRY produced by Heart of Empress Productions, TIME IS SLIPPING AWAY by BK Mars Production and His most recent MONEY ME WANT featuring Faze and produced by3P Entertainment. At age fifteen he migrated to the parish of Kingston where he made life until he migrated to Cayman to expand his level of opportunity. This was not the last stop as in 2012 he settled in Canada, that was one year after he began to take the music profession serious. Besides music, Norval is also an Auto Engineer, so if you can’t find him in the studio, you can sure find this hard-working man getting his hands dirty strumming up the roar of a vehicle engine.
The phrase “nothing good comes easy” is not strange to Norval, he can very much share a lot of experiences but let’s just say in this industry, the hardest thing for him is the onslaught of envious people. Currently under the management of Caswell McLaughlin, 3P Entertainment’s brainchild, Norval is working on a number of projects to release and if they are as good as or even better than the current single then we can agree that there are great things to come. Even though he is under a management direction, Norval is not limited because this focused individual also runs his own label Edgehill Production, located in Jamaica. It has been in operation for over five years. This goes to show that he is not only hardworking and talented but also smart because, a smart man knows how to put aside things when he needs a helping hand to build upon his foundation.
Norval has had the opportunity to appear on various stages in Cayman and Canada to showcase his talent to a number of people. Not only that, he has also been interviewed by Carrie Mullings, Vibez Radio, Sis Dee on Jamrock Radio in Detroit, Sir Bee from CHRY Radio in Toronto and CKUT in Montreal. It doesn't stop there because written medium has also showcased his growth such as The Star and The Gleaner newspapers in Jamaica, Cayman Compass and Reggae Exclusive Magazine in Canada.
